Christmas Train

12/10/2007
Toussaint, 5
Tia, 2-1/2 years old

We got a live cut tree Saturday.  Toussaint picked it out, insisted on helping me carry it in, tried to put the stand together himself, and did all the decorating except for the lights (which I did). The silver garland is sort of balled up and clumped on one branch. It looks terrific. We set up the train and Toussaint and Tia loaded the boxcar with Little People and the gondola (that's the box w/out a lid) with the ceramic figures from the manger, and drove it around the tree about 145 times. Tia's also discovered it makes a great prop for her tantrums. It takes a bit of work to get the wheels of all 6 cars lined up properly on the track, so whenever she gets mad now she heads to the living room to derail the train. Toussaint and I finally gave up last night and the train is still tipped over on its side, Mary and Joseph and the shepherds with their staffs all lying in a heap.
